Parrsboro Harbour

One of the best sites in the Geopark to appreciate the enormous size of the Bay of Fundy tides. Both the horizontal expanse and vertical height of the tides can be experienced as the harbour completely empties and refills twice daily. Walk the ocean floor at low tide, note the high-water marks along the beach and nearby wharf – now imagine if the tide were in. This is a great spot to return to for before-and-after photos of high and low tide 6 hours later. Spend the time between tides exploring other local geosites, the nearby Museum, and local restaurants.

Age: Quaternary sediment, 10,000 years old.
Directions: From Main Street, Parrsboro, turn onto Two Islands Road and continue past the Fundy Geological Museum. Take the next right onto Pier Road and continue until the road ends at the Harbour View Restaurant.
GPS Coordinates: 45.390806, -64.317222
